About the Artistic Director

Rowen McBride-Pilon is a certified Royal Academy of Dance ballet teacher and graduated from York University with a BFA Honours degree.

Her dance journey spans diverse styles, including modern techniques like Graham and Limon, contemporary dance, and various ballet forms such as RAD, Cecchetti, and Vaganova.

Having completed the Teacher Training Program at The National Ballet School of Canada, Rowen’s commitment to quality and contemporary ballet education shapes her role as a teacher at Ballet Etobicoke. Believing deeply in dance’s transformative potential, she endeavours to make the art accessible to all, particularly fostering connections with young minds for both physical development and creative expression.

Based in Toronto, Rowen serves as the Artistic Director of Ballet Etobicoke, a dance teacher at Swansea School of Dance, a freelance dance artist and contemporary performer, pilates teacher, and a leading advocate for dance expansion across communities.

As a choreographer, Rowen’s works blend technical prowess with creative expression, often infused with humour. Her focus lies in fostering confidence, responsibility, generosity, self-discovery, and meaningful expression through dance practice.
