Why Is Dress Code Important?

1. Safety
A fitted outfit (leotard or tight top and tights/shorts), appropriate footwear, and a secure hairstyle reduce hazards and help instructors monitor proper alignment and technique.

2. Comfortability
A standardized dress code ensures all students are comfortably and appropriately dressed—encouraging confidence, equality and freedom of movement in the classroom.

3. Respect
Wearing the uniform reflects a student’s respect for their class, peers, and teachers—minimizing distractions and maximizing focus.

4. Practicality
Dancewear doubles as a costume base and is designed for freedom of movement, just like a swimsuit for swimming or a jersey for basketball.

A proper dress code supports learning and teaching. We’re happy to assist with any questions you may have!
